2005 In Music: Top Of My List
Hey, 2005 is about to leave us and some people are happy for that (who? me?). It has been a good year in general but some of us (who? me?) can't wait for a better future. Anyway, as music is a big part of everyone (me?) and since everyone is posting their list of their favourites of the year 2005 I decided to be unique...and follow their example (!!!)
My favourite albums of the year (in random order):
1)James Blunt - Back To Bedlam
Wonderful album, ideal for driving, of this English bloke with the fragile voice. Met him with 'You're beautiful' but stuck with 'So long Jimmy'. I must have for all kinds of listeners and specially for those who can't wait for Damien Rice's follow up album.
2)Robbie Williams - Intensive Care
Another great album from Robbie, still needs time to grow and surpass the brilliant Escapology, but what can anyone say for 'Trippin' and the superb 'Advertising Space'. All tracks follow a nice mood and are lyrically mature.
3) Black Eyed Peas - Monkey Business
A get-up-and-go-crazy album that follows their previous 'Elephunk'. The album contains many potential singles/hits plus the already known 'Don't Phunk With My Heart", 'Don't Lie' & 'My Humps'.
4)Madonna - Confessions On A Dance Floor
Another kick-ass album from M, this time destined to hit the dancefloors and take you with it. All tracks are mixed in a continuous way (like DJ sets) and there are no ballads. Just press the play button and start dancing. Don't waste time only on (the perfect) 'Hung Up' but try to identify 'Sorry', 'Push' and 'Forbidden Love'.
5)Gorillaz - Demon Days
A virtually perfect album from this virtual band. A true masterpiece from the Gorillaz that you can fit into any category of music. Definately unique, definately brilliant. Favourite track 'Dirty Harry'.
I know that my taste is too typicall but that's just me. Enjoy...
